Lumps of Clay

I’m not sure how I feel about being compared to a lump of clay, though on some unambitious days I admit that could describe how I feel. It sounds very unexciting and dull. However, looking at it from a potter’s eyes, a lump of clay is potential waiting to happen! They can imagine something unique and beautiful just waiting to be formed through their attention and skill.
Well, that changes everything! Now I’m not just an inert blob, I’m a lump of potential – perhaps even a work of art! We all have the opportunity to become wonderful, unique beings who make the world a better place. We can all live up to our potential as long as we’re willing to be formed by The Potter. It doesn’t happen overnight. Often it’s a long process, but it’s so worth it! We welcome all to come and be formed with us other “lumps of clay” at Buffalo United Methodist Church. We all have to start someplace and The Potter knows just what to do.
