Confirmation (7th and 8th Grade)
Confirmation at Buffalo UMC includes students in grades 7 and 8 in a program providing Christian education, fellowship, faith building, and mentoring with adult faith partners. Parents provide a pivotal support role not only for their own students, but for the entire ministry by encouraging and shepherding their students through this two-year journey of learning and faith formation. Parents also participate by providing snacks, helping cook to a meal, chaperoning a retreat or mission event, or providing transportation.
7th and 8th graders gather every Sunday from September through May from 10:00-10:45 am. Confirmation at Buffalo United Methodist Church uses the Confirm: Your Faith. Your Commitment. God’s Call. curriculum to guide students in exploring what it means to be a follower of Christ within the United Methodist tradition. Throughout the program, students will learn the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith, the meaning of baptism and church membership, and how to live out their faith in everyday life. The curriculum encourages personal reflection, active participation in worship and service, and helps students discover how God is uniquely calling them. Confirmation is not the end of a journey—it’s the beginning of a lifelong commitment to faith, community, and discipleship.
Please call the church if you know of a student who may be interested in our program.
